Our Story

The Dream of Two Sisters

The sisters grew up in Jamaica and cooking was always a family tradition which, combined with their experience in the hospitality industry, they now bring to the small community in Walden.

Sandford and Nixon-Lawrence wanted to stay true to their Jamaican heritage with a menu that features oxtail, jerk chicken and jerk pork, rasta pasta, rice and peas, curry dishes, fried fish or festival, a fritter made with plain flour, fine yellow cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt and seasoned with nutmeg or vanilla that is shaped into “fingers” or balls.

The sisters, who have also worked in health care, hope to have Wednesday specials, entertainment and food discounts for seniors this summer as a way to give back to the community, Sandford said.
